New Malden Pizza Express

The service was fast, the Margarita pizza and pink apple juice wamere nice. The mixed salad side was overwhelmed with leaves, but the different coloured tomatoes were surprisingly good. I has a 50% off pizzas offer on the app, I was able to pay via the app but not order.

Subway – TLC Tika

This is a veganuary special with “Tastes Like Chicken” with a tikka style coating. I had it toasted in a 6inch Italian sub with ketchup, salad and vegan cheese.

It tasted nice, there was a slight till flavour but it wasn’t too overpowering or spicy.

Krispy Kreme – Caramel Choc Delight

This is one of the new vegan offerings from Krispy Kreme for Veganuary.

There are 2 sauces in the filling – caramel & chocolate, caramel icing with dark chocolate stripes. Of the 3 new vegan doughnuts this was my favourite and wasn’t too sickly sweet. However the doughnuts are all a but expensive – even if you buy in bulk.

Krispy Kreme – Fudge Brownie Bliss

This is one of the new vegan offerings from Krispy Kreme for Veganuary.

The brownie chucks on top were a bit hard and the chocolate sauce inside was a but rich, but it was edible. As with all Krispy Kremes, the price is a bit expensive.

Krispy Kreme – Apple Custard Crumble

This is one of the new vegan offerings from Krispy Kreme for Veganuary.

There is a custard and apple sauce mixture inside and a cinnamon crumb topping.

It tastes ok (the cinnamon can overpower the apple and custard) but can be a bit messy when the crumble falls off. As with all Krispy Kremes, the price is a bit expensive.

Wetherspoons -Beyond Burger

This vegan burger has a patty, lettuce, slice of tomato and red onions in an oversized bun. It is served with chunky chips. You can help yourself to ketchup, mustard, vinegar and mayo.

It tasted nice, didn’t fall apart and was of reasonable value (£6.65 with a soft drink), but the portion of chips was a bit small and the bun was a lot bigger than the patty.

McDonald’s – McPlant Burger

This is a very tasty vegan burger from McDonald’s. It has a patty, tomato, onions, lettuce, pickles, vegan cheese, ketchup and burger sauce in a sesame seed bun.

You can tailor it when you order – although removing items doesn’t make it cheaper.

Pho – Wok fried noodles and veg (Tofu & Mushroom) with Soy Ginger sauce

This was a nice dish covered with chipped peanuts. The noodles were a a bit stuck together which made it a little bit harder to wat but it tasted good, especially when I added the sauce.
