Curry Leaves, 276 Burlington Road, New Malden.

I got 10% off for ordering a collection via the app. However, the estimated time was inaccurate and the order was also incorrect as the vegetable curry was not initially included as their print out didn’t show it (although I was charged for it). They did eventually provide a small pot of curry.

There was not much covid protection visible – no face coverings on staff despite a function and and other customers being eating in.

The food was very spicy (the Bombay Aloo was more of a chilli curry with a few bits of potato) but pleasant enough, although other places in the area taste nicer and have fewer problems with online orders.

Pizza Hut – Beyond Italian Style Sausage Supreme Pizza

This is part of a new “Beyond Meat” range of meat free pizzas. This had “Beyond Meat” Italian style sausage, mozzarella, peppers, mushrooms an onions.

It tasted nice but more vegetables would have been better.

Franco Manco – Veg Special 204

This had thinly sliced roast potatoes, Stilton cheese, mozzarella, a tiny bit of onions, lots of pesto and sun dried tomatoes.

It tasted reasonable once I escaped off most of the over powering pesto.

Italian Crust, Approach Road, London SW20 8BA

This Italian take-away offers deliver via Uber Eats. It is mainly pizza with a couple of lasagna’s.

I had a Margarita Pizza and garlic bread. The pizza had a very thin crust but was tasty. The garlic bread was also very thin which made it crispy.

The prices are reasonable, the service and delivery was prompt but there are limited toppings to choose from.

Box by Wagamama – Miso Mixed Veg box

Special lunchtime offering from selected Wagamamas. It has sticky rice, jalapenos, mushrooms, broccoli, Asian slaw, leaves and edame beans. It didn’t have a sauce with it so some of the rice was a bit bland.

Box by Wagamama – Yasai Katsu Box

This is a lunch special that you can order from selected Wagamama stores.

It has panko coated butternut squash and sweet potato, asian slaw, mixed leaves, edamame beans and katsu sauce.

The panko coating was a bit too crispy, but the sauce was nice for dipping.

Giggling Squid – Vegetable Pad Thai

This had an egg “basket” draped over the top which was a bit like a very thin web of plain omelette.

It had lots of noodles, some lemongrass, crinkle-cut carrots, tofu, bean sprouts, red onion and cabbage. It also had a slice of lime.

It was tasty and filling, but there was a LOT of noodles compared with the amount of vegetables, which left a slightly oily after taste. The normal price is £8.95.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen – Cluck free burger

This is a bit pricy for a burger and had a log of sauce making is messy to eat. It was a vegan version of a chicken burger with vegan mayo, lettuce and tomato.
