Unfortunate – Southwark Playhouse (Elephant) – 2.30pm Saturday 20 January 2024

This was a camp parody of the story of Ursula the sea which from The Little Mermaid.

It is a bit rude, but very funny and makes fun of the original Disney story.

The theater is modern but appears to be a flexible space so the seats feel a bit temporary.

Wicked – Apollo Victoria – 2.30pm Sunday 14 January 2024

I had seen this before and enjoyed it just as much as before with the latest cast.

I got one of the Daily Dozen seats through TodayTix and it was a pretty good seat.

Hamilton – Victoria Palace Theatre – 7.30pm Saturday 30 December 2023

I got a £10 ticket in the TodayTix lottery/ballot.

It is cheap for a London theatre but it was front row with a very high stage so the view wasn’t the best and a few things were missed.

Although it isn’t my favourite type of music, and the story was a bit hard to follow as I could clearly see when the same performer was playing more than one part which was slightly confusing at times, the overall show was good as I had done a little research on Hamilton’s story beforehand.

The Time Traveller’s Wife – Apollo Theatre – 2.30pm 30 December 2023

I got a Rush Ticket for this new show and it was a great seat.

It is a musical about a couple where the man timetravwls throughout their timeline but without any control of when he does or where he will end up.

It had some great effects to show him disappearing and reappearing and quick changes. Some were probably using doubles, but there were a couple of occasions where he did seem to appear/disappear in front of the audiences eyes.

Hamnet – Garrick Theatre – 2.30pm Thursday 28 December 2023

I got a Rush Ticket from TodayTix to see this play about William Shakespeare’s son and the way his death impacted on his family.

Although it is a drama there were a few amusing parts in the first act.

It refers to aspects of his life in Stratford Upon Avon, so if you are familiar with that you may get more of the references.

Six – Vaudeville Theatre – 4pm Wednesday 27 December 2023

I finally got to see Six after getting a Rush ticket from TodayTix.

I was in the middle of the second row and the positioning wasn’t as bad as I had feared. I could see the stage floor and I didn’t have to keep turning my head. The only slight problem was that on a small number of occasion the stage lights were in my eyes but for the vast majority of the time it was fine.

I liked the show and if it was easier to get tickets at a reasonable price I would consider watching it again.

Elf: The Musical – Dominion Theatre – Saturday 23 December 2023

I got a Rush Ticket to see the Christmas’s production of Elf. I was in the circle for the first time at the Dominion, which had a very Christmassy foyer.

The view was good but it was a bit of a maze to work out how to get to the seats in the middle of the rear section of the circle.

It is a silly but fun Sparklejollytwinklejingly couple of hours where Buddy discovers his heritage and his family discovers the joy of Christmas.

Peter Pan Goes Wrong – Lyric Theatre – 7pm Sunday 17 December 2023

My third time seeing this show, but first time seeing it in the West End and first time seeing but as a 2 Mischief Show day.

I saved money by using some of my Seat Plan points to get money off the ticket.

I loved the show, and was even greater by the Director in the pre-show bit.

Play That Goes Wrong – Duchess Theatre – 3pm Sunday 17 December 2023

My 6th time seeing this show (5th time at the Duchess) but my first time seeing 2 Mischief shows in the same day!

I got a reduced seat thanks to the dynamic pricing in the circle.

I hadn’t seen the show from the circle before and it was great to see it from a different angle.

Frozen – Theatre Royal Drury Lane – 7pm Saturday 16 December 2023

To end my 3 show day I got a Rush Ticket (bought while travelling to The Snowman) to see Frozen.

Unlike the other 2 shows I saw today, I had seen this one before (twice), but with the full current cast line up.

I still like the show and it was interesting to see it from the Royal Circle and slightly to the side – although a couple of things at the back left of the stage were slightly missed, I could see a different angle of the “Let it go” trick. I also missed out on the “snow”.
