Walk Review – Walk London – Millbank MI5 and MI6 and much more – Pimlico to Westminster – 21 May 2017

This was a very good walk that looked at the various buildings on a route between Pimlico and the South side of West Minster Bridge.

The tour was led by Ian and Katie who took turns to talk about the various sites and act as back marker, which was a good idea and I haven’t seen this on other walks before.

They talked about Millbank prison and the possible origin of the Australian term “pom” (Prisoner of Millbank), The Tate galleries, Millbank Tower, MI5, a little about Mi6, the changing skyline of London, Lambeth Bridge, the former St Georges Wharf, the London Fire Brigade’s former HQ and future museum, the Royal Doulton Factory,  the new art galleries in Newport Street Lambeth, the Garden Museum, Lambeth Palace, and Parliament, and much more.

The walk was very entertaining and informative.

10/10
