Frankenstein (2011) (Staring Benedict Cumberbatch as the creature and Jonny Lee Miller as Victor Frankenstein) – National Theatre at Home

The auditorium looks creepy, and the first 10 minutes is (fake) shaven-headed and scarred Cumberbatch dressed only in a loincloth writhing about alone on stage being the newly-born monster.

The creature then meets a kindly old blind man, who teaches him the basics of life and speech, but he is shunned from the rest of society.  When the creature finds out that he was an experiment, he vows to exact revenge on Victor and his family.

During an argument, the creature says he will leave if Victor makes him a mate, but when Victor reconsiders the implications of this he faces the creature’s wrath a final time.
