This is an anglicised play adaption of the US movie Clue, which was based on the US Board game Clue – which was an American version of the original British murder mystery board game Cluedo. If you think that’s confusion gbthats nothing compared to the solution (or should that be solutions) to the mystery in the play.
There is quite a bit from the movie, but the location has moved to the UK and involves people linked to Westminster rather than Washington DC. There are also limitations with the stage – but done ingenious scenery allows you to see the various rooms involved.
It is funny and silly with some good laughs – some from the movie and some new ones from the new anglicised ones. The theatre was quite big and possibly less than half full, which was a shame, particularly as the lowest 2 prices were under £20 and had good views. There were no reminders about the advice to we’re masks, and only a few were wearing them, but quite a few in the audience decided to move to empty seats to have more space.
