I got one of the cheap on the day £29.50 “Daily Dozen” tickets. The seat was just under half the face value in the circle and had a good view of the stage.
I saw this once before on about 2010 from the front row of the stalls thanks to their infamous pre-pandemic day seat offer. The circle is a lot closer to the foyer, an exit to the street and it was good to get a different view.
The 2 leads both had under studies on Lisa- Anne Wood as Glinda and Amy Webb as Elphaba and it was nice that inserts about each performer had been slotted into the programmes.
The show was good but when the “Wizard” talked through the machine it was a bit muffled at times.
There was announcement in the auditorium just before the show started and again at the interval asking people to wear face coverings to protect those around them, but disappointingly the majority seemed to only care about themselves and didn’t bother to put them on. There was also a LOT of members of the audience leaving their seats during the show – some left multiple times.
8/10
