Twelve Angry Men – Theatre Royal Brighton – 2.30pm Saturday 25 November 2023

On a trip to Brighton I managed to catch the touring production of Twelve Angry Men.

It was a good adaptation of the drama film with some amusing bits about a jury trying to decide a verdict. The table and chairs are on a revolve on the centre of the stage with turns 360 degrees very slowly over the course of the play.

It was my first visit to this theatre. It is surprisingly big inside but the outside is being renovated, and the theatre is a very big fan of view blocking pillars around the auditorium – I’m not.

Dear England – Prince Edward Theatre – 2pm Saturday 18 November 2023

I got a Rush ticket from TodayTix.

This play is about how Gareth Southgate changed the mentality of the England Men’s Football team so that they could better cope with the pressure they are put under.

It was amusing, but if you are more familiar with people in the football wold you would probably find it funnier as they imitate them and various Prime Ministers

Guys & Dolls – Bridge Theatre – 2.30pm Thursday 16 November 2023

I got a stalls seat for over 50 %off in the TodayTix Black Friday Sale.

It was a fun show, with a party atmosphere and despite that the audience were a lot better behaved than some other shows. There are standing immersive tickets where you are closer to the action and get to dance with cast members at the end, but you do need to stand for nearly 3 hours and are moved around due to the ever changing stage units.

It was an enjoyable afternoon at the theatre.

Backstairs Billy – Duke of Yorks Theatre – 2.30pm Saturday 3 November 2023

I got a £25 Rush Ticket from to say is for this, saving over 2 thirds on face value.

This is a comedy with some farcical elements about the Queen Mother and her flamoyanr Page of the Backstairs, Billy Tallon, and a potential scandal.

The ending was a bit odd but overall it was well performed, and funny with some farcical elements – and included some corgis.
