I made my first visit to the theater Royal Stratford East. The theatre felt a little cramped and the stage was incredibly high which although it reduced the problem of having your view blocked by tall people, meant that most in the stalls couldn’t see the floor of of the stage.
I saw the updated stage adaptation of the Ken Loach film I, Daniel Blake. Some updates had been made to the story since the film – including words said by various politicians since then about what they think about those living in poverty.
Unfortunately, the story remains more relevant than ever today – as shown by the food bank collection at the theatre.
