It Must Be Heaven

This is an odd independent film with a largely silent main character who seems to have travelled away from the problems in Palestine and sees that other places have issues too.

Still Life (2013)

This is a slightly depressing but interesting concept for a film. It stars Eddie Marsan as John May a kind, gentle but lonely local government employee whose job it is to deal with those who die alone in his district and try to trace their relatives to let them know or to arrange funerals for the deceased.

Due to cutbacks, he is told his services are not going to be needed, but that he can finish one last case.

Williams (2017)

This is an interesting documentary about the Williams Formula one team.  It focuses on its founder Frank Williams but also features the current boss his daughter Claire, the first female Team Principal in Formula One.

City Lights (1931)

I watched this as part of the free members Curzon 12 selection.  This is a silent black and white film with Charlie Chaplin who plays a tramp who falls in love with a blind flower seller.  He finds out she is seriously ill and he tries to get the money needed to make her better.   He succeeds, but when police find him they try to arrest him as they think he stole it.  He evades them long enough to give the girl the money but still ends up in jail.  On his release, he visits her.  She can see again and eventually realises he was the man who helped her.
