This British film is based on a true WW2 story about how the British deceived the Nazis about the allied invasion of Sicily.
It was an interesting story about a little known WW2 event.

I saw this film thanks to Curzon Cinemas putting on showing of this film that was released on Apple TV and won best film at the 2022 Oscars.
Coda is an acronym for a child of deaf adults, and this film is about a 17 year old who is the only hearing member of her family who rely on her in their fishing business. She becomes torn between helping her family and realising her talent and love for singing.

Disappointing script and story line with a lorlt of ret con from the books, previous films and official cannon information from the Wizarding World, particularly concerning ages of certain characters ages, the years earlier events occurred, circumstances of a death and no mentions of Nagni or Professor Dippet.
The actors do well despite the problems and if there are future films hopefully they will help fill the multitude of massive plot holes.

This was a very funny uplifting and heart warming British comedy based on the true story of a middle afed man who on the 1970s decided to enter the British Open – despite the fact he had never played golf before. He managed to get a record breaking score – for the wrong reasons, but gained a lot of fans by showing that trying is just as important as winning.

I saw this as a Curzon members preview. The film stars Jim Broadbent & Helen Mirren as a Geordie couple, and is based on the true story about a 1960s art heist that was carried out for social purposes.
It was a sweet amusing film.

This is a murder mystery set at a large country house party, with servants. It is packed within big names and has some comedy elements too.

Rhia is an odd film about 2 mothers and their daughters. It stars Oliva Coleman, Dakota Johnson and Jessie Buckley.

This is not part of the famous Carry On series of films and predates them. It is a funny comedy about 2 friends a Navy Captain and a politician who accidentally swapped places after getting drunk.

After many many delays due to covid, this Kenneth Branagh adaptation of the famous Agatha Christie who done it is finally out.
It is the same basic story of love and jealously, with multiple murders, but with some changes – including some of the characters, Poirot’s backstory, the circumstances of at least one of the murders and an extra romance.
There are some amusing parts and if you are familiar with the story you are likely to spot some of the clues and one pretty big change shortly before it happens.
