Birdsong -Online Theatre

This is a limited release of a dramatisation of Sebastian Faulkes’s WW1 story.

It was filmed during lockdown with each performer filmed separately and the backgrounds put in later, and narration from the author.

It focuses on British Officer Stephen Wraysford and his life before the war, where he rescues an abused wife. It also looks at his time in the trenches during the war and how that affected him and those around him.

It jumps back and with a lot between time periods which is a bit confusing.

Military Wives (2020)

I saw this as a free preview.

This comedy-drama is loosely based on how the first military wives choir was established, by the wives left behind on an army base when their husbands and partners were deployed to Afganistan.

It does have some comedic elements but has emotional ones too. It ignores any publicity that military wices choirs got from Gareth Malones TV series.
