Rochester is a historic town on the banks of the River Medway in Kent. It is easy to reach by train from London. It includes a Norman castle, a cathedral, shops, links to Dickens, and shops. It is also a stop on the very reasonably priced Medway open-topped bus tour that goes on a circular tour between Rochester and the nearby town on Chatham.
