Nice free place to visit owned by the National Trust. The hill can be quite steep (whichever way you try going up or down by foot) and slippery in places (particularly if it has been wet) but it is nice to get some fresh air. and you can make use of the reasonably priced refreshments from the National Trust at the top which is a welcome reward for the walk up as is the great view of the local area.
It is also easy to access the bottom of the hill by public transport including using a bus that is on the Oyster network. The 465 bus runs a half-hourly service calling at Kingston, Surbiton, Hook, Chessington, Malden Rushett, Leatherhead, Dorking and Dorking. This means you don’t need a car to visit the hill if you are coming from the Oyster card area.
