Veggie Pret – Squash, Soft Cheese and Feta Omelette

Please note that I visited this place and drafted this review before the UK Government’s Coronavirus announcement on 16 March 2020 about social distancing and not going on unnecessary trips.

This cost £4.50.

The complete is quite airy, but parts of the top we’re slightly overdone and the pars with feta tasted word mixed with the omelette texture.

It has chopped spring onions, chunks of butternut squash, melted pieces of fetta and soft cheese and spinach.

Itsu – Spicy Veg Bao’ Buns

Please note that I visited this place and drafted this review before the UK Government’s Coronavirus announcement on 16 March 2020 about social distancing and not going on unnecessary trips.

This cost £4.49.

They are kept in a heater in store, but the outer bun quickly loses its heat. It is also hard to eat due to size and bun consistency.

The filling is quite spicy, but it is countered by the plain bun.

Crussh – Falafel & Houmous Wrap

Please note that I visited this place and drafted this review before the UK Government’s Coronavirus announcement on 16 March 2020 about social distancing and not going on unnecessary trips.

This cost £3.20.

It had falafel balls, houmous, mixed leaves and shredded carrot in a seeded wrap.

It was a bit bland and I would prefer if other fillings were added like cucumber, tomato or onion.

Veggie Pret – Cocoa, Nuts & Berries Smoothie Bowl

Please note that I visited this place and drafted this review before the UK Government’s Coronavirus announcement on 16 March 2020 about social distancing and not visiting restaurants

This cost £3.75.

The smoothie is incredibly thick and has an odd consistency. It is a mix of ground nuts, banana puree, cocoa and coconut cream. It also has almond butter, raspberries, blueberries and mixed nuts on top with sliced banana hidden at the bottom of the bowl.

Veggie Pret – Sashimi Style Watermelon Poke Bowl

Please note that I visited this place and drafted this review before the UK Government’s Coronavirus announcement on 16 March 2020 about social distancing and not visiting restaurants

This cost £5.50.

The bowl includes sliced avocado, watermelon chunks, pickled cabbage, black rice, shredded radish, edamame beans, coriander, a quarter of lime and sesame seeds.

The watermelon went well with the rest of it, but I think it would be nicer if there was more melon and less avocado.

National Portrait Gallery – David Hockney: Drawing from Life

Please note that I visited this place and drafted this review before the UK Government’s Coronavirus announcement on 16 March 2020 about social distancing and not going on unnecessary trips.

I visited this exhibition for free using my gallery membership.  The price for non-members is £20.

This focuses on Hockney’s drawings and sketches rather than his paintings. A few of the pieces in this exhibition were familiar to those who visited the recent Hockney exhibition at the Tate.

Charlotte’s Web (2006)

Live-action version of the novel of the same name about a pig, who is befriended by a young girl, who calls him Wilbur.  He makes friends with other animals in a barn and in particular a wise spider called Charlotte who tries to send messages to the farmer to persuade him to keep Wilbur alive rather than slaughtering him.

Misbehaviour (2020)

This comedy-drama film is about the rise of the Women’s Liberation Front in 1970 and their fight for equal rights. It focuses on the true story of their protest at the Miss World Competition.

It is an entertaining and educational film looking at the objectification of women, racism, the fight for right and the ethics of beauty pageants.

Flying Tiger – Surprise Bag – For Everyone (early March 2020)

This cost £3.
It contained novelty bottle-shaped napkins, novelty key-shaped pen, novelty pen with a felt pig on the end, phone case for Samsun Galaxy S7, small jewel stickers, stapler and a novelty USB/MicroUSB cable with plastic hamburger at each end.

I estimate the value of the good is about £10.

McDonalds – Veggie Dippers Happy Meal

This cost £2.59.

It has 2 veggie dippers, a small fried (you can choose a fruit or carrot bag instead), an orange juice (other drinks are available), a sealed pot of ketchup (barbeque, sweet and sour and curry were the other sauce options) and as the “toy” it had a small plastic Little Miss Chatterbox mug (other Mr Men and Little Miss options are randomly included).

The cardboard box can be adapted into a tray, which was useful.  If you aren’t too hungry this is probably suitable as a light meal for an adult.

The cost is reasonable for what you get.
