Veggie Pret – Squash, Soft Cheese and Feta Omelette

Please note that I visited this place and drafted this review before the UK Government’s Coronavirus announcement on 16 March 2020 about social distancing and not going on unnecessary trips.

This cost ÂŁ4.50.

The complete is quite airy, but parts of the top we’re slightly overdone and the pars with feta tasted word mixed with the omelette texture.

It has chopped spring onions, chunks of butternut squash, melted pieces of fetta and soft cheese and spinach.

McDonalds – Veggie Dippers Happy Meal

This cost ÂŁ2.59.

It has 2 veggie dippers, a small fried (you can choose a fruit or carrot bag instead), an orange juice (other drinks are available), a sealed pot of ketchup (barbeque, sweet and sour and curry were the other sauce options) and as the “toy” it had a small plastic Little Miss Chatterbox mug (other Mr Men and Little Miss options are randomly included).

The cardboard box can be adapted into a tray, which was useful.  If you aren’t too hungry this is probably suitable as a light meal for an adult.

The cost is reasonable for what you get.

McDonalds – Big Mac Sauce

This cost 50p for a small sealed pot.  you get more sauce than in the free pots you can get of ketchup and barbeque sauce.

I tried it with fries and veggie dippers.  It made a change from the free sauces – particularly as the wider pot made it easier to dip things in it.  It tasted a bit tangy, and it is nice to finally make it available to vegetarians (it isn’t vegan as it mentions egg yolk in the ingredients), but ideally, it should be part of the free sauces available.

Veggie Pret – Humous & Chipotle Wrap

This cost ÂŁ2.99. It has a Rye wrap, humous, chipotle sauce, chopped red pepper, shredded carrot, spinach and coriander.

The wrap tasted a bit doughy, and the coriander and peppers overpowered some of the other flavours.

Crussh -Mozzarella, fresh basil & sundried tomato sourdough spelt toastie

This costs ÂŁ3.95.

Despite the name it also has sliced of normal tomato and the basil is in the form of pesto.

It isn’t anything special and tastes like a cheese & tomato toasted sandwich covered in pesto.

For me, it has far too much pesto.

Veggie Pret – Mango & Banana Sunshine Smoothie Bowl

This costs ÂŁ3.75.

This is a bit odd as the mango sauce is very liquidy and the banana are hidden at the bottom of the bowl.  It also has blueberries, dried coconut and granola.

Veggie Pret – Sweet Potato Falafal Mezze Salad Bowl

This costs £4.50.  It has sweet potato falafel, pickled red cabbage, cucumbers, red peppers, pomegranate and pumpkin seeds, mixed leaves, humous, a large wedge of lemon and a small pot of vinaigrette.

The lemon wedge took up a lot of space in the bowl, and the pickled cabbage was overflowing between the lid and the container.

It tasted ok but wasn’t anything special.

McDonald’s – The Spicy Veggie One wrap

I got this for 99p via the McDonald’s app. The normal price is ÂŁ2.99 (except on Mondays, when it is “wrap of the day” and is ÂŁ1.99.

This is 2 normal veggie dippers, in a white wrap, with a spicy tomato salsa/sauce, lettuce, sliced tomato and red onion.

The wrap was a bit doughy, but the filling was tasty – despite some of it falling out of the end during eating.

Subway – Meatless meetball marina (untoasted with toppings on wheat bread)

I tried my second one of these. This time I tried it untoasted with onion, sweetcorn and cucumber with extra ketchup on wheat bread.

Despite the marinara topping supposedly being kept warm over a hot Bain-Marie water bath, it was barely warm.

The extra ketchup helped country the lack of marinara sauce and the vegetables made it taste healthier.

Gregg’s – Vegan Doughnuts

These are 60p each or you can get a box of 2 for ÂŁ1.

This is a glazed ring doughnut, and it doesn’t taste notably different to other glazed ring doughnuts with a slightly sweet sticky, gooey glazed coating.
