This House – National Theatre at Home

This is a political comedy about the events in the mid-1970s when Labour and the Tories each had a problem getting a majority in Parliament, so they had to have a few general elections to sort it out.  I found it interesting but a bit confusing keeping track of what was going on, and it may be easier to understand if you are familiar with that time in British political history.

They seemed to have some of the audience on stage forming the benches of parliament which looked a bit odd, particularly when the actors were also sharing the same benches.

Brothers Grimsby, The (2016)

Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong play brothers who were separated when they were young.  One was brought up to be a rude man in Grimsby and the other became a secret agent.  They find each other.  The film isn’t very funny and the jokes are rude and coarse.

Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005)

In this family slapstick comedy sequel the Bakers go on a holiday to a lake and end up in a competition with another large family.

The cast playing the Bakers all return for this enjoyable (except perhaps at times for Tom Baker played by Steve Martin, who suffers the most with the slapstick) story.
