Capital Ring Walk – Section 1 (Woolwich to Falconwood)

https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/walking/woolwich-to-falconwood

This walk starts at the south side of Woolwich foot tunnel and ends at Falconwood Station.

It includes sights such as the Woolwich ferry, views of London, a secret children’s zoo, a castle, hills, valleys, woodlands and open spaces.

It was reasonably well signed, but the fact the Capital Ring shared signs with the Thames Path, Green Chain, Charlton Tour, and Severndroog Tour and in post designs varied, made it hard at times to work out which signs to follow sometimes. It also sometimes felt the routes were a bit odd and weren’t always the most direct routes even through parks and green spaces.

There were some good discoveries on this route, but at times it was a bit muddy in the woodlands.

7/10
