Walk Review

London Loop Section 1 Erith to Bexley

Erith has a pier which although it is just for walking and fishing, provides nice views of the Thames.

The walk has lots of views of the Dartford Crossing over the Thames but is also quite industrial until the long winding walk through Crayford Marshes, where you see some horses, reeds, some industrial buildings and the small rivers Darent and Cray.

Crayford has a large Aldi and Sainsburys, just off the walking route with toilets, but while Aldi only had one toilet, Sainsbury’s had many.

Then there was a park and more walking by a small river, followed by a complicated route to get to the other side of a dual carriageway and railway line to some woods. The woods were quiet and had lots of nice bluebells.

Finally, I emerged into Bexley where there was a church with a slightly odd-looking steeple, and then onto the station.
