This play was brilliant. Thanks to a £15 on the day Rush Ticket from TodayTix I had row B io n the stalls. It was the front row and although the stage was very high cutting off the lower legs or feet of the performers a lot of the time, it isn’t a musical or dance show so that didn’t really matter.
Although it is a play with a serious message there were moments of humour in this story about 3 children trying to undersrand racial injustice in the deep south of America in the 839s and in particular a court case where the father of 2 of the children is defending a black man falsely accused of raping a white woman.
It does have quite a lot of time jumps back and forward which are dealt with well (but that is from someone familiar with the novel and movie) as are the changes to the simple scenery and props.
10/10
