Pure – Sweet Potato Gobi

The price for this is ÂŁ6.85. It wasn’t very spicy, and although it should have cauliflower and kale in the sauce, the one I had was mainly sweet potato. It also has slaw and whole grains and was quite filling.

Subway – Meatless Meatball Marinara

This is a new addition to the Subway menu. It costs ÂŁ3.99, which is cheaper than most of the other veggie options. It has vegan meatballs in their tomato marinara sauce with vegan cheese. I had it on 6 inches what bread with tomato, sweetcorn, onion, lettuce and spinach. There wasn’t very much of the sauce included inside the sandwich, and I seemed to get two and a half balls. They were a little bit dry due to the lack of sauce (the official photos show a lot more sauce.

Leon – Mushroom and Egg Muffin

This is one of the breakfast offerings from Leon. It consists of cooked mushrooms, egg,  raw spinach and spicy tomato sauce in a sough dough muffin.  For me, the sauce tasted a bit too spicy for the rest of the ingredients and the muffin was a bit dry.

Wasabi – Sweet Chilli Tofu Yaki Soba

The normal take away price for this is £6.20, so it is on the pricy side.  This tastes a bit spicy, but as you can mix it a bit yourself you have some control over it.  It was a bit weird having pineapple in the spicy sauce as it made it taste a little bit like sweet & sour.

Wasabi – Toffee Apple Crumble Slice

The normal takeaway price for this is £1.  It was soft in texture and tasted nice, but was a bit cold as it is stored in the chillers.

Wasabi – Tofu Curry Air Bento

The rice seemed to be both dry and sticky meaning it was difficult to eat it all, but the curry was tasty, and the smaller portion means there should be less waste.

Veggie Pret – Falafel, Halloumi and Pickles Brioche

This was very gooey and difficult to eat. The pickles were sliced longways rather than across which made them harder to eat. The falafel, halloumi and sauce were nice, but it was very messy to eat.

Restaurant Review – Veggie Pret – 18 Broadway, London, SW1H 0BH

This is the first Veggie Pret branch in this area of central London. The shop was formerly an EAT shop, and the public space has shrunk massively since it has been rebranded as Veggie Pret. It feels tiny and cramped. If there are more than about five customers in the shop, it can feel very crowded. There is not much space for eating in either.

It is nice to have more shops that sell an increased selection of vegetarian food.

Pizza Express – Leggera Peperonata

This is a vegan pasta dish with a sauce made from tomato, peppers and chilli with a rocket salad on top.

The salad gets a bit soggy from the sauce, but overall the dish tastes reasonable.
