Boots – Vegan Christmas Market with vegan sausage

This cold sandwich has vegan sausage, onion chutney, fried onions, mustard, cabbage and vegan mayonnaise.  The cold sausage and onions taste a bit strange in an sandwich.

Eat – Mushroom Melt

This tasted a bit burnt and was quite soggy. It had sliced mushrooms, vegan Gouda, onions and vegan mayonnaise. It had been toasted by staff at Eat and the size of the bead (which wasn’t cut in half, the sogginess dripping out if it and the burnt parts made it a bit difficult to eat.

The normal price is ÂŁ3.99.

Boots – Vegan Christmas Feast

This tasted a bit odd with a strange combination of flavours. It is white bread with vegan mayonnaise, vegan stuffing (including seeds, sprouts, and sage), red cabbage and dried fried onion. The average price is ÂŁ3, but this is one of the meal deal options.

Subway – Veggie Supreme Pizza Sub

This comes in a multi-seeded Wheat Bread with a marinara tomato sauce base topped with grated cheese, peppers, onion, sweetcorn, olives and jalapeños. The normal price for the 6-inch version is £2.99.

It was very gooey with the sauce but was filing.

Pret – Classic Cheese and Spring Onion Toastie

The toasted option from Pret contains a mixture of 3 cheeses and spring onion inside slices of seeded bread. It is toasted fresh so it can be very hot when you at the melted cheese. It was also a bit too gooey for me and the bread was stodgy.

Express Coffee Co and Pizza, Strutton Ground, London – Vegetarian Pizza

This was a nice 11-inch vegetarian pizza with a thin crust. It had tomato sauce mixed with basil, mozzarella cheese, shallots, mushrooms and peppers. It was sliced into six, but they were quite uneven. It is quite cramped in the shop, and the holes on the side of the takeaway box meant that it started to lose the heat quote quickly. The normal price is ÂŁ6.7/10

This was a nice and filling pasta dish. It has rigatoni pasta tubes with a thick spicy tomato sauce including chunks of Pure’s meat substitute called “It’s not chicken” and a small tub of vegan cheese.

Bite Mi at Cardinal Place food market – Vegetable Stir Fry Noodles

Vegetarian option with noodles, peppers, onions and optional coriander spicy sauce, hoisin sauce and sesame seeds.  It can be quite spicy but is and could do with more vegetables but it is still tasty and reasonable value at £5.

Crussh- Spiced Chickpea Fit Bowl

This has spiced cauliflower & basmati rice, lentils, spiced chickpeas, slaw, pickled red onions, coriander & tamarind chutney & spicy chickpea noodles.  The pot of dried noodles is a bit weird and the chutney was very runny.

Pret – Greek Salad

Nice vegetarian salad offering from Pret.  It contains lettuce, cucumber, olives chargrilled peppers, pickled red onion, feta cheese, lemon and sauce.  I would have prefered tomato to the peppers, but it was still nice.
